The Dark Mark Cocktail and Butterbeer Cupcakes
By now you already know I put the COMPLETE recipe for the Butterbeer cupcakes HERE! A favorite treat among students vacationing in Hogsmeade, Butterbeer Cupcakes are sure to please any witch, or wizard in your life. He Who Must Not Be Named is rumored to have invented the recipe in potions class. Unable to turn a cupcake into a Horcrux, Voldemort sold his recipe to Honeydukes and settled for the Diadem of Ravenclaw instead.
If Mrs. Weasley had a favorite cooking show, this would be it!
Let’s face it, with seven kids she needs a cocktail and a cupcake every once in a while. The Dark Mark cocktail is the preferred drink of housewitches, Death Eaters, and Bulgarian Quidditch players alike!
The Dark Mark:
Fill goblet half way with ginger ale
Add 2 oz whipped vodka (or whatever flavored vodka you want to use)
Top with GREEN ice cubes (just two or three so they float on top)
**Members of the D.A. add vodka-soaked gummy worms for an extra kick
Make your green ice cubes by mixing water with food coloring! MAGIC! We used the square ice cubes because they are bigger and melt slower, feel free to use regular, but only one or two per cocktail. Also use this time to make your Heir of Slytherin Snakes. Use whatever vodka you will be using and soak your gummy worms overnight with your ice cubes. If you DON’T want to use vodka soaked gummy worms, you can use regular, but they won’t be as creepy wiggling around in your glass once you add it to your cocktail!
Start by filling your highball glass with ginger ale about half way. Then add 2 ounces of whipped vodka (we used Pinnacle Whipped Vodka). Drop in 3-4 of your boozed gummy worms for your snake-y effect. Now top with one square green ice cube or 2-3 regular green ice cubes. As it melts, the green will stay on top and you’ll see the worms floating on the bottom. It’s delicious and simple!
